The Reds have tried to trade Brandon Phillips for the better part of two years. It sounds like a deal could happen soon. Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports is reporting the Atlanta Braves are "close" to acquiring the Reds second baseman.
I've been told this is more realistic than it's ever been with Phillips before, but it is not done yet. Still hurdles. https://t.co/t4dkCy5K3Z— Zach Buchanan (@ZachENQ) February 12, 2017
This isn't the first time the Reds have tried to trade Phillips. He has a no-trade clause, but it appears like he's at least considering the idea of joining the Braves.
Feel free to take this at face value, but Phillips tweeted this earlier tonight.
We'll have the latest Reds news when it breaks.
