Final: Reds 5 Padres 0
*I'm not sure how to describe what Cueto is doing, and do it justice.
*Johnny Cueto: Complete game, 3-hit shutout, 2 BB, 8 K, 116 pitches/75 strikes.
*Cueto now 4-2 1.25 ERA, with 3 complete games, 2 CG shutouts.
*Last week, I joked with ESPN's Buster Olney that if I'm Cueto, and see Bailey get 6-$105M, I'm asking for 6-$205M. That price keeps going up.
*Johnny gives up hits at the rate other pitchers give up runs.
*Don't forget/underestimate how important a complete game could be for the bullpen in Game 2 with Jeff Francis.
*Reds are 5-4 in starts by Cueto.
*The Padres did field a team with 5 guys hitting below .200.
*Padres held to 3 hits in consecutive games.
*Every Reds position player got at least one hit.
*2 hits: Hamilton, Frazier, Pena, Phillips
*3 hits: Cozart...now batting .281 over last 20 games. Cozart snapped an 0-for-15 with RISP dating back to his last hit with RISP on 4/22 at Pit.
*Frazier extends hit streak to 13 in a row.
*Phillips: 6 RBI in first 29 games, 6 RBI in last 8 games.
B5: Brandon Phillips 3-run HR, 3-0 Reds
B6: Zack Cozart 2-run 1B, 5-0 Reds
Last 12 starts for Cueto: has held batters to a .147 average, K'd 28% of them, & has a 1.27 ERA. 43 hits in 85 IP. Beast— jasoncollette (@jasoncollette) May 15, 2014

Devin Mesoraco was 1 for 3 with a HR at Louisville Thursday afternoon
RHP Nick Christiani was optioned to Class AAA Louisville, the contract of LHP Jeff Francis(#26) was selected from Louisville and RHP Mat Latos was transferred to the 60-day disabled list...a roster addition will be made in between games of today's doubleheader, when by rule both teams can add a 26th player.
Sight seen at GABP
I sat in the sun deck with Richard Dickmann on Thursday afternoon. I noticed this fan watching the game and listening to Jim Kelch and Jeff Brantley on 700 WLW.
