LeBron James Becomes Youngest NBA Player To Reach 30,000 Points In Career

LeBron James continues to solidify himself in sports history. The Cleveland Cavaliers player has officially become the youngest NBA athlete ever to score 30,000 points in his career.

James is also the 7th NBA star to reach this milestone. This achievement was accomplished on Tuesday (Jan. 23) night in a game where the Cleveland Cavaliers played against the San Antonio Spurs. Prior to the game even starting, James knew that he was going to reach the milestone because he was only seven points away from the goal.

On Instagram, the star posted a throwback photo of himself: "Wanna be one of the first to Congratulate you on this accomplishment/achievement tonight that you’ll reach! Only a handful has reach/seen it too and while I know it’s never been a goal of yours from the beginning try (please try) to take a moment for yourself on how you’ve done it!"

The post continued: "The House you’re about to be apart of has only 6 seats in it (as of now) but 1 more will be added and you should be very proud and honored to be invited inside. There’s so many people to thank who has help this even become possible (so thank them all) and when u finally get your moment (alone) to yourself smile, look up to the higher skies and say THANK YOU! So with that said, Congrats again Young King." See that message below.

In last night's game, James scored 28 points, exceeding the amount he needed to reach his 30K goal. Moreover, this game also made the athlete the first NBA player to obtain 30,000 career points, 7,000 rebounds and 7,000 assists all at once!

Unfortunately, the 28 points the baller got wasn't enough to win the game against the Spurs, as the Cavaliers lost 114-102. Nevertheless, James won the night. Even Spurs fans gave the king a standing ovation, once he reached his 30,000-point mark.

"Just a special moment," James said after the game. "I just started thinking about everything. My journey from being a kid who first picked up a basketball when I was 5 years old to first playing organized basketball when I was 9 all the way up to this point.

"I give a lot of thanks to a lot of people. This is a special moment. It's something I never set out to do. I'm not even a score-first guy when it comes to playing basketball. I love getting my teammates involved and seeing my teammates be excited about scoring and me getting the assist and things of that nature."

Stars like JAY-Z, Kobe Bryant, Drake, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kevin Hart and more have since congratulated James. Check out their reactions to his history-making night below.
