MLB, Cuba Agree Players Don't Have To Defect To Sign With U.S. Teams

Cuban baseball players will now be allowed to sign with big league teams without having to defect. The deal between the MLB, the Players Association and the island nation is an effort to eliminate dangerous trafficking that's been going on for decades. The deal allows Cubans to sign under similar rules for players under contract in Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. The agreement runs through October 31st, 2021.
