Liam Hemsworth Thanks Wife Miley Cyrus During G'Day USA Acceptance Speech

Liam Hemsworth gave his wife Miley Cyrus the sweetest shoutout this weekend.

The 29-year-old actor and 26-year-old singer made their debut public appearance as a married couple when they stepped out for the G'Day USA Gala in Los Angeles this Saturday (January 26). 

The Australian star, who arrived in a black suit and tie to complement Cyrus' velvet black dress, was honored with the Excellence in Film honor for his performances in blockbuster films such as Independence Day: Resurgence, and of course, The Hunger GamesDuring his acceptance speech, Hemsworth gave a personal thanks to the love of his life, who according to PEOPLE could not contain her cheering from the crowd.

"Thank you to my beautiful wife," he said of a surprised Cyrus, who beamed back with a precious smile. "You are a sweet, sweet angel. You’re great, you’re great."

The newlyweds, who secretly said their "I dos" in a close-knit wedding ceremony in Franklin, Tennessee in December, have already begun planning the next chapter of their love story.

Despite debunked pregnancy rumors, sources close to the pair told Us Weekly the "Malibu" musician and her hubby had tentatively been in talks to start a family together in the distant future.

"Miley is not pregnant currently but does want to have a family with Liam," an insider told the publication, adding, "Miley and Liam say they felt married before their actual ceremony. Miley is so happy with her life right now. She’s finishing up recording her next album and she and Liam couldn’t be happier."
