John Harkes is no longer the coach of FC Cincinnati according to Goal.com. Harkes led FC Cincinnati to a third place finish in the USL last season.
Goal.com notes a "power struggle" between Harkes and president Jeff Berding led to his ouster. Here's an excerpt from their report:
"Sources says that a power struggle between Harkes and FC Cincinnati president and general manager Jeff Berding led to the abrupt coaching change, which caught players and staff by surprise, especially since Harkes was coaching the team as recently as Thursday."
Harkes, 49, is a former captain of the U.S. soccer team. We'll have more information on this when it becomes available.
