The Bengals have a chance to get better before free agency starts on March 9. The New York Jets released seven-time Pro Bowler and two-time All Pro center Nick Mangold. I think the Bengals should sign him. He would be an instant upgrade at center.
If the Bengals plan to move on from Kevin Zeitler, then they need to find a way to upgrade an average offensive line. Mangold is better than Russell Bodine. What's the downside to bringing in a veteran who hasn't allowed a sack in 33 games?
Mangold was released, so he won't hurt the Bengals' chances of getting compensatory picks next season.
Former Bengals wide receiver Andrew Hawkins was released by the Cleveland Browns today. Could Hawkins come back to Cincinnati? Would the Bengals be interested?
I'm not sure it would be a good fit. Hawkins is still a very good player, but the Bengals have Tyler Boyd and Alex Erickson. Both of them are slot wide receivers. Hawkins is a slot wide receiver. I love the way he plays in space, but I'm not sure he fits in Cincinnati.
I do think the New England Patriots should be interested in Hawkins.
Here's an in-depth look at Bengals' free agency.
Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com believes they will stand by Jeremy Hill and could lose Kevin Zeitler.
Pro Football Focus' latest mock draft would be ideal for the Bengals.
