The Bengals wore full pads for the first time today. Giovani Bernard, A.J. McCarron, Michael Johnson and Andre Smith were out. It's safe to say Bernard was resting after practicing for three straight days. He has looked great in practice despite tearing his ACL in November and fans shouldn't worry about his absence today.
McCarron missed practice because of a family emergency according to Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis. Smith stretched with the team and then he spent the rest of practice working with conditioning coaches on the sideline. Defensive coordinator Paul Guenther isn't concerned about Johnson and it sounds like he will be practicing again soon.
Tony Pike and I did a video recap of today's practice and watch the play of the day below.
