Marvin Lewis isn't expected to return to the Bengals in 2018. He plans on pursuing opportunities elsewhere. What does that mean for the Bengals? Well, it means they'll hire a new coach for the first time since 2003.
Some fans may be expected a BIG splash, but I'm not sure that will be the case. The idea of Mike Brown promoting an internal candidate is very real. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network names special teams coordinator Darrin Simmons as a potential replacement. Jason La Canfora mentioned defensive coordinator Paul Guenther as another possible replacement.
Simmons ran a practice during training camp that Lewis missed for health reasons. I wrote about Simmons, Guenther and eight other candidates here.
