You know what would be a great giveaway by the Reds? A miniature, operational Joey Votto clock for your desk.

Peyton and her friends spent last weekend in Nashville. As a parent, there are some things you'd rather hear about after they are done, not prior. Know what I mean?

I always look at lawn mowing as a game. When I'm in control of the yard, I'm winning. I'm currently losing badly.

When I retire, I think I want to Doordash. Make my own hours. Limited exposure to people. Nothing to do with sports.

It was so frustrating when you discovered your VCR tape ran out before your show/game was over. Or, how about when you pushed eject and the tape started that crinkling sound and got stuck!?

My dad taught me math division by showing me how to calculate Pete Rose's batting average.

I discovered Pink Floyd's 'Take It Back' ('94) this week. Really good song.

Every time I hear "Sirius" by Alan Parsons Project......I start citing the Chicago Bulls starting lineup: "And noooooooooowwww......"

Reminder, especially if you take kids to GABP, you can bring in food and unopened plastic bottles. Soft-sided coolers are acceptable.

The scene in Hoosiers when the town is voting on the removal of Gene Hackman as coach is just fabulous. Jimmy Chitwood: "I figured it's time for me to start playing ball again. But, there's just one thing... I play, Coach stays. He goes, I go"

I gave blood at Hoxworth Ft. Wright this week and received a really cool Reds windbreaker/pullover.

I miss doubleheaders. I'd like to see each team have two per month on alternating Sundays. Home and Away. Monday off.

We have discovered Splits. A brand of extra dark, overbaked pretzels. Who knew?

Are we witnessing the rapid and irreversible decline of TJ Friedl?

Kelly has opted to leave nightly treats for the racoon that started visiting our back patio after adding a bird feeder. She feels sympathy for him because he's old and limps. I've advised against this.

In HS, I called a no-hitter by MLB pitcher Richie Lewis. Muncie South beat Carmel. He later pitched for the Reds in 1997.

I know I'm late to the party on it, but I'm a big fan of 'High Road' by Koe Wetzel and Jessie Murph.

I attended the Villanova-Georgetown 1985 national title game at Rupp, with my dad.

Remember the electric baseball game with the mini controllers on a cord attached to the stadium shaped game?

We are on a sandwich kick. Got a deli or sandwich shop in the NKY, Cincinnati area you'd recommend? We've been hitting Rekas in Covington on Saturday. Love it.

Remember waking up after Reds West Coast games and seeing a note in the Enquirer like "The Reds led the Giants 3-2 in the 4th inning at the time the Enquirer went to press"?

It seems Reds fans have a long list of hitters they want to get rid of. So why blame Chris Valaika? It's not the coach. It's the talent level

Remember all the disaster TV movies of the 70's like Towering Inferno, Black Sunday, Earthquake, Poseidon Adventure? Wasn't there one about killer bees?

I like the NBA. There were times I loved it. But I'll admit it's tough to watch these days. Too often, defense seems optional. Load management sits stars. The league has had a record 81 games decided by at least 30 points.

I'd like to see MLB and a soft drink company recreate the RC Cola player cans of the 70's? I'd collect those!

After Casey and I watched Butler beat Michigan State in the 2010 Final Four at Lucas Oil, I missed the title game vs Duke. It was Reds Opening Day. You don't take off Reds Opening Day.

I don't eat enough soup.

I've finally reached the debate of mowing the yard vs paying to have the yard mowed. I just can't get there, yet.

I loved the Yes & Know Invisible Ink Sports Quiz & Game Book. It came with an orange capped marker. Great for vacation car rides.

I'm fearing Spencer Steer just isn't going to be the player I thought he would be.

Don't worry about things you don't care about
