Jacob Evans Landed In The Perfect Spot.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL: FEB 12 Cincinnati at SMU

It turns out Jacob Evans made the right decision.

It’s not that the 288th pick in this year’s NBA Draft couldn’t have improved his stock by returning to the University of Cincinnati for his senior season, while perhaps finally being the alpha on another NCAA Tournament-bound Bearcats team. And it’s not that Evans heads off to join Steph, KD and Klay in northern California as a finished product. But his choice to leave UC after his junior year has resulted not only in a Cincinnati player having his named called in the first round for the first time since 2005, but given the team he’s joining, Evans is about to begin his professional basketball career in the most ideal set of circumstances imaginable.

The Golden State Warriors will be a perfect fit for Evans.  At face value, that’s not saying too much because the two-time defending NBA champions would be the ideal fit for almost any new pro. But unlike any team in the league, the Warriors can best utilize Evans in a way that maximizes his clearest attributes.
