I know I’m asking for a lot here, given that the Bengals have never really cared much about doing what’s right.

This is, of course, the same franchise that stood by Adam Jones for another season after he screamed, “I hope you die tomorrow” and called a police officer a “bitch” 21 times while telling him to “suck my dick” 11 other times during an arrest a little less than 22 months ago. The team that predictably drafted Joe Mixon in 2017 surely doesn’t put much stock into how things look, or what anyone thinks.

And I certainly don’t expect Marvin Lewis to empathize much with a working member of the media, given the condescending attitude and sourpuss expression he wears to most of his press conferences, which are pure hell to listen to even when the team is winning.

But I’ll ask it – actually, no, I’ll say it, anyway.

The Bengals should suspend Vontaze Burfict.
