CINCINNATI, OH - JUNE 9: Ryan Ludwick #48 of the Cincinnati Reds can't make a catch on a double hit by Tim Federowicz of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the sixth inning of the game at Great American Ball Park on June 9, 2014 in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Dodgers won 6-2. (Photo by Joe Robbins/Getty Images)

Final: Dodgers 6 Reds 2 Boxscore
*Reds 29-33, 8 back of Milwaukee, 15-16 GABP, 10-16 vs teams .500 or better.
*8 game deficit matches biggest of season.
*20th time in 62 games Reds score 2 runs or fewer....(32%).
*The Dodgers ran their Spring Training B Squad out. I'd never even heard of Jamie Romak or Tim Federowicz.
*Bottom 3 in LA lineup: Romak .100, Federowicz .123, Haren .115.
*Tony Cingrani made the Reds decision on his immediate future a lot easier.
He threw a mind numbing 97 pitches/64 strikes, in 4.2 innings, allowing a career high 6 runs on 7 hits, 3 walks and 2 HR.....23 pitch 4th, 29 pitch 5th.
*Pitches: 76 fastballs, 11 sliders, 9 changeups, 1 sinker. Per PitchFX Threw 4-seam fastball 82.16 percent of time last year, 72.94 percent this year.
More from PitchFX: Hitters vs Cingrani by pitch
4-seam fastball: .205 in 2013, .256 this year.
Changeup: .333 in 2013, .346 this year.
Slider: .042 in 2013, .267 this year.
*Down 3-2 in the 5th, Cingrani got the 1st two Dodgers out, then a BB to Puig, pickoff error, BB to Kemp. He was clearly done, but after a visit from Jeff Pico, served up a 3-run HR to Scott Van Slyke, his 2nd HR of the night, and it was 6-2...ballgame.
*How many 2 out hits has Cingrani allowed last couple starts?
*Cingrani 0-5 in 5 starts, 6.26 ERA, 9 HR since coming off DL.
*Can Cingrani help the bullpen if he can't throw strikes?
*Reds already have 3 LHP in bullpen. Would they DL Marshall to keep Cingrani?
*I'd guess Latos returns, Cingrani to Louisville.

*The Reds largest deficit overcome to win a game this year remains at 2 (May 4).
*Reds managed 7 hits and 5 BB, but managed to hit into 3 DP' in the 6th (Pena) with two on, 7th (Hamilton) with 2 on and 8th (Ludwick) with bases loaded.
*1st career DP that Hamilton has into, in 237 career plate appearances.
*Reds 4-25 when trailing going to 6th inning.
*Reds 1-28 when trailing going to 7th inning.
Reds scoring by inning for season:
1st: 33 runs
2nd: 14 runs (Fewest MLB)
3rd: 19 runs
*2 on, with 0 outs in 8th, Bradon League walked Jay Bruce to load bases. Ludwick swung 1 and 0, and hit a tapper back to mound for a 1-2-3 DP.
*2 hits Phillips, Ludwick (HR) Video
*2 BB Bruce....saw 25 pitches in four plate appearances.
*Reds scored only other run on a WP with Tony Cingrani at the plate. Video
*Reds managed just 3 hits over final 5 innings.
*Anyone think the return of Joey Votto solves the issues this team has on offense?
*0 for 5 w/RISP
*Meanwhile, with Cleveland's Lonnie Chisenhall's night of 5 for 5 with 3 HR and 9 RBI, he is closing in on Jay Bruce's season.
*Logan Ondrusek stated his case to stay: 2.1 IN, 2 H, 4 K, 1 BB
*Sean Marshall 1 IN, 1 BB
*JJ Hoover: 1 IN, 1 H, 2 BB, K
Brayan Pena cut down Dee Gordon stealing....5th time in 41 attempts on season.

Down on the Farm
Notes HERE
*Joey Votto: 1 for 3, 1B
*Mat Latos: 5.2 IN, 4 H, R, 4 K, 3 BB....82 pitches. Game stopped due to rain.
Got to figure Latos returns to Reds and pitches Saturday at Milwaukee.

My night at GABP
I bought two tickets on yesterday afternoon and took Casey to the game. We sat 10 rows up, behind the Dodgers dugout, in section 116. I got them for $25 a ticket. Great seats.

Why were there so many Dodgers fans at GABP last night? They were everywhere.
