Final: Padres 6 Reds 1
*Reds 18-21, just 11-10 GABP, 7 back of Brewers....have lost 5 of 8.
*Yep, that one had the feel of providing a snapping point for fans.
*Lost a home series to Padres? As I've always said, the Reds are the perfect team for......never mind.
*Padres win 1st road series of year.
*Still not sure I get the lineup: Bernadina, Barnhart, Santiago and Heisey? In the game the Reds were starting Jeff Francis, and were likely to need runs?
*Tougher to watch: Ondrusek or Hoover?
*Ondrusek threw 6 strikes in his 20 pitches, 3 BB, R.
*Reds hitters 11 K, 3 H, 2 were infield hits.
*Reds allowed 8 runs in series, scored 7 runs.
*Pretty safe to say I had never seen Joey Votto K back to back ABs on 6 pitches.
*Votto 3 K for game, now batting .257.
*Let's face it, any team starting Roger Bernadina in a ML game deserves to be no-hit....and the Reds were, into the 5th.
*Bernadina 0-4, batting .111.
*Heisey 2B, 2 BB.
*Francis: 5 IN, 5 H, 3 R, 0 BB, 4 K.
*Soto: 0-1, K, now 2 for 29 in career.
B1: Hamilton BB, SB, SB, scored on Phillips RBI ground out, 1-0 Reds.
T2: Rene Rivera 2-run HR, 2-1 Padres.
T3: Chase Headley RBI 1B, 3-1 Padres.
T6: Headley RBI 1B, 4-1 Padres
T7: Evereth Cabrera HR vs Marshall,  5-1 Padres
T8: Yonder Alonso HR vs LeCure,  6-1 Padres
*Over the next 4 days, trailing Milwaukee by 7 games, the Reds(without Cueto) will face Hamels, Lee and Strasburg, while the Brewers play the Cubs. (Listener Jeff)
