Richie does have an Instagram account with the handle “@sofiarichie.” The screengrab in question shows her username and profile picture to give it authenticity, but the text accompanying it is not authentic. The message reads, “Stop tagging me in this sh**t and stop being jealous that I know and spend time with Justin and your ass has to pay 3k to meet him for two seconds, oh wait you can’t lol. Go away.”
The alleged comment was purportedly in response to someone with the username “sofiaisgross” saying, “we can’t stand the way you treat us, Justin deserves better.” But whatever the catalyst, Richie’s supposed response isn’t real. “It’s fake,” her rep exclusively tells Gossip Cop.
As Gossip Cop has previously noted, fake tweets said to be from Richie are also being spread, and even picked up by disreputable outlets like HollywoodLife, but the person running the Twitter account is an impostor. It’s not clear why people want to impersonate her, or photoshop comments from Richie and Bieber, except to fuel drama and flame fan wars. Such misleading and immature behavior should be disregarded.
