Trivago Spokesman Busted For Allegedly Driving Under the Influence

Trivago spokesman busted for DWI

The spokesman for the popular German travel discount website, Trivago, was arrested for allegedly driving drunk in Houston, Texas Wednesday, police said.

Police say Tim Williams, 52, was discovered passed out behind the wheel of a car, his foot on the brake and in a moving lane of traffic, the Houston Chronicle reported.

Williams, who was born in Houston, was given a sobriety test, which he allegedly failed, police said. He also agreed to a blood test, but those results were not released.

"At this stage, we do not have the full details of the situation, but we want to make clear that Trivago treats such incidents very seriously and strongly condemns drinking and driving which poses a risk to others and goes against the Trivago culture," Trivago wrote in a statement to TMZ.

The Trivago spokesman has since been charged with a misdemeanor chareg of driving while intoxicated. Court documents show that a mental health evaluation for Williams has been requested.

The actor was released on a $100 bond. He's scheduled to appear in court on April 17.
