The Reds reached Braves All-Star pitcher Reynaldo Lopez for a season high four runs over six innings. Hunter Greene was nails over seven shutout innings.
The Reds snapped a four game losing streak and moved to 22-11 in series opening games.
Lopez entered with a MLB 1.88 ERA, including 10 starts allowing fewer than 2 runs. He allowed a 1st inning run for the first time this season.
Greene: 7 IN, 2 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 7 K, season high 112 pitches/75 strikes. ERA 3.14.
5th time pitching 7 innings in a start this year. 7 pitch 1st. He was strutting w/ confidence early on. Worked around leadoff hitter reaching four straight innings. Entered the 7th at 91 pitches.
Alex Diaz, pitching for the first time in eight days, made things interesting in the 9th. Given a 4-0 lead, he allowed a run, and brought the tying run to the plate before extinguishing the fire.
Will Benson: 2 H, HR, BB, 2 SB (13). Saved two runs with a running/leaping catch in the 2nd inning, his third stellar catch in two days. What a return to his hometown.
Elly: 2 H, 3B, BB, 2 R, SB (49)…10 game hit streak. Failed to turn an easy DP.

Jeimer Candelario: 2 H, 2B, 2 RBI, SF, snapped 0 for 18. Now 20 2B, 16 HR.
