'Accountability' continues to be a buzz word with fans. Everyone demands it. How do you believe accountability should be enforced?
Terry Francona is not going to walk onto the field and remove a player that makes a mistake. He's not going to kill a guy in the media. Same when Pete Rose managed. Same with any MLB manager today. Managers don't embarrass players. It just doesn't happen that way. Sorry.
Do you really believe guys getting picked off wasn't addressed last season, and the year before? Seriously?
Do you want Elly benched for a mistake? Want to play shorthanded tonight because Jacob Hurtubise made a bonehead play? Not happening.
What matters is trying to make sure mistakes don't happen again.
You won't see or hear how an 'incident' was handled. It will be discussed behind closed doors.
You won't realize accountability has kicked in until you are no longer demanding it.
As of today, you still are demanding it. That means there's still work to be done.
