Man, the first lawn mowing of the spring really stinks. And then, after all the rain last week, I had to do a midweek mow just to stay ahead of the four day run of rain we are facing.

As someone that turns away during scenes of Chicago Med and The Pitt, I was proud of donating blood for the first time ever this week! Getting a really cool Reds hat that Hoxworth is giving away this month was a nice bonus. And it was easy. Great staff at Ft. Mitchell location.

If Trey Hendrickson had 3.5 sacks last year instead of 17.5, would he be offering the Bengals a refund on his contract?

Oh, the anticipation of sitting down on a Saturday afternoon to watch This Week In Baseball w/ Mel Allen. I can hear the theme music in my head!

Kelly bought a Pampered Chef can opener. I don't understand how it works. Is it because I'm left-handed?

During Extra Innings, I drained at least a month of pacemaker battery life following the third consecutive 1-0 loss.

Would fans who are bothered by player salaries, rather see the money pocketed by the owner?

That whole Buttermilk Pike road section from that 75 exit to Bonefish Grille area in Crescent Spring really is a complete and total disaster. We almost originally moved to Villa Hills. I would have given up and moved.

Don't be the guy that points out when they were right, nobody cares. Be the guy that admits when they were wrong.

I will continue to believe there are few things more satisfying than a perfectly edged sidewalk.

The Chicago Fire scene with the firehouse crew showing up for services for Chief Pascal's wife was pretty powerful. The Chicago Fire scene with the malfunctioning pacemaker was pretty unnerving.

There is no such thing as 'early' in sports. Wins in April are the same value as wins in September. And a win in April is a win you don't have to chase.

13 years ago this week, the Reds signed Joey Votto to a record breaking extension. He proceeded to perform at a level 42% above the league for the next 12 seasons. With a generational talent, the Reds went 863-979 (.468), had five winning seasons, three playoff appearances and zero playoff series wins. That's an indictment of ownership.

What an amazing moment at The Opry 100 celebration when Carrie Underwood performed a tribute to Randy Travis. He was able to say the final line of his class 'Forever, And Ever, Amen'. Tears. He suffered a stroke about 13 years ago.

My producer, Kenzie, taught me about Jibbitz. The charms that plug into Crocs. I never knew. Should I wear Crocs?

We've been hitting area butcher shops: Avril & Bleh (downtown), Wyoming Meat Market, Bill Finke & Sons (Ft. Wright). Got any recommendations around the Cincinnati/NKY?

Kelly accepted long ago that I have a thing for Halle Berry. I accept her thing for Joey Votto. She can't understand the thing I might have for Miley Cyrus and J-Lo.

The Reds do not have a season with more than 83 wins since the 2013 season.

Are media people so desperate for attention they have to get into fights with each other, or with athletes to make news? That's sad.

You don't spend six weeks in spring training evaluating your team so you can start shipping out players and calling up other players seven games into the season. Unless of course you have misevaluated your roster.

Whatever happened to Reds Super Fan Chuck D?

I found talking with Richard Pitino to be an interesting and enjoyable conversation this week on Sports Talk.

Baserunning mistakes by Jacob Hurtubise and Jake Fraley. Poor relay throw by TJ Friedl. Errors by Elly and Nick Lodolo. New manager. Same fundamental issues.

Don't worry about things you don't care about.
