Ah, the little things.
The Marlins scored twice in the 7th inning thanks to two miscues by the Reds defense.
Leading 3-2, T.J. Friedl airmailed a cutoff throw to the plate as the tying run came home, allowing the batter to advance to 2nd. The go-ahead run then scored on Graham Ashcraft’s throwing error on a comebacker, his second error of the season. Ballgame. It was their 14th unearned run allowed this season.
Record: 11-13. It’s their first series loss in Miami since 2021. They’ll try to salvage a game in the series Wednesday afternoon.
