Blake Dunn singled in Spencer Steer to walk off the Royals in the bottom of the 10th.
They trailed 3-0 in the 5th. Down 3-2 in the 9th, pinch-hitter Will Benson jacked a game-tying homer to start the inning. They won the game with four hits, including three homers.
Spencer Steer socked two solo homers. Andrew Abbott tossed six innings, allowing all three runs in the 4th. Four Reds relievers held the fort, firing four shutout innings, to provide the chance to rally.
The Reds (31-29) will go for the series win Wednesday with Chase Burns on the hill.
