There wasn’t a ton of hardcore substance to the press conference the Reds held Monday to introduce David Bell as their new manager. Aside from a quote from Bell about being aligned with the front office (which C. Trent Rosecrans wrote about in-depth), there wasn’t much more to take away from the new manager’s initial public moments in his new gig, which is fine.

Events like Monday’s are designed to be as celebratory as they are informational, especially when the ties that connect David Bell to the team and the city are part of the story.

This doesn’t mean that there wasn’t anything newsworthy said. I perked up a little when I saw this tweet from C. Trent….
